The Cathedral of Burgos is one of the most important Gothic cathedrals in Spain. It is located in the city of Burgos, in northern Spain. The construction began in 1221, ordered by King Ferdinand III of Castile and Bishop Maurice. The cathedral was built in the Gothic style, inspired by the great cathedrals of France, like Notre Dame in Paris.

Over the centuries, different parts were added, especially during the 15th and 16th centuries, giving it its unique appearance. Inside, there are many chapels, tombs, and artworks. One of the most famous is the tomb of El Cid and his wife Doña Jimena, Spanish national heroes.

In 1984, the Cathedral of Burgos was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Today, it is not only a religious monument but also an important symbol of Spanish art and history.
